Indore tops in MP's stamp and registration duty collection

Indore tops the list of Madhya Pradesh in stamp and registration duty collection during the year 2007-08 with the district accounting for Rs 434 crore revenue out of the total Rs 1,540 crore.

According to sources, during 2007-08, at least 58,000 assets were registered.

Last year, stamp and registration duty collection from Indore stood at Rs 339 crore, they said.

The state government had fixed Rs 335-crore target of revenue collection for the district during the previous financial year.

The sources said about 30 per cent of the total revenue collection comes from the district alone.
